We have had a good response to this new event but there are still tickets available. We have received interest from members but this has not been followed up by an application to attend. It may be that members feel obliged to come forward with a readymade team of 8 but this is not necessary as we will join members and their guests up with others to make teams of 8. In fact teams can be less than 8 but no more as this makes, even a fun competition, unfair. We would not recommend teams to be less than four however.

As your new Bridge Organiser, I invite you to the next meeting of the 1964 Club Bridge Group, which will take place at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club. The cost will be £31.00 per person, which includes your meal with wine, coffee and prizes. We will be playing Chicago. The bar will be open from 6:30 pm and dinner will be served at 7:15 pm. We expect to finish by 10:30pm. I will arrange a bridge partner if you need one. Please confirm you can join us and indicate your preferred menu on the attached form and return it to me.

The Autumn Golf meeting will take place on October 15 at the Betcworth Park Golf Club. Further details will be available in due course.

The Members Autumn Dinner will take place at the Glaziers Hall, Southwark. The Glaziers is the only Livery Company to have a Hall south of the river. Indeed it overlooks the Thames from the south side and is literally a “stone’s throw” from London Bridge and the Railway Station.

A Walk is arranged on Friday 11th September on Walton Heath starting at the Sportsman pub, Mogador. To reach the pub drive south on the A217 to lower Kingswood, towards the end of the shops turn right on the Buckland road, take the third turning on the right Mogador road, the Sportsman is at the end of the that road on the right. Post code is KT20 7ES. Meet at 10.00am. The walk is flat and has no stiles.

The General Election will be on Thursday 7 th May 2015. Our President Chris Grayling is the Conservative Candidate for the Epsom & Ewell Constituency. Local Elections for: Mole Valley Epsom & Ewell Reigate & Banstead Will also take place on 7 th May 2015 Polling stations will be open from 7.00am until 10.00pm.

The price for this event is £28 per person. ALL DRINKS WILL BE SETTLED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS and there will be a cash bar available all evening. Many of those attending are non drinkers and quite a few will be driving home late at night and will not wish to have alcohol so it was thought more equitable not to include a weighting on the ticket price for wine.

The Spring Golf Meeting of the 1964 Club will take place at the Royal Automobile Club on Thursday 30th April 2015. This year we shall be playing on the Coronation Course and all golfers are most welcome. In addition to the Ladies’ and Gentlemens’ individual trophies a team competition will be organised.
